Sports drinks

I think enough has been said about soft drinks, so you don’t need me to go on about it as well. However I want to draw your attention to the so called ‘sports drinks’. Do your best to stop your children from drinking these.

What the majority of people don’t realise is that a 600ml bottle of these drinks contains about 2 tablespoons of sugar. These are just empty calories, and the average child or person does not need them. These drinks were designed for athletes such as marathon runners or triathletes who could be racing for up to 6 hours. A very small percentage of the population falls into this category.
