Health Funds that offer a rebate
The following is a list of private Health Funds that offer a rebate for Naturopathic consultations as at January 2009. The health funds below offer rebates if your naturopath is a member of ATMS. ATMS is the Australian Traditional Medicine Society, which represents the largest group of qualified natural therapies practitioners in Australia. Mim is a member of the ATMS, as well as past Head of Naturopathy for this association. Mim also is a member of NHAA the National Herbalist Association of Australia.
Different funds offer different rebates. Additionally, it depends which type of cover you have with the fund, whether and what amount of rebate they offer. In order to claim you will need the receipt/invoice you receive at the end of the consultation. Unfortunately, at this time, Medicare does not rebate anything for natural therapies.
